MASTER CLASSES

My Masterclasses are not all the same for all players but the one thing I always incorporate is singing everything you play. There are several reasons for this. Breathing and air flow! Horn players are so focused on not missing notes they forget to breathe and make music. One of my favorite phrases is “flow forward.” Horizonal playing is all I do! There are variations on horizonal playing, of course but the foundation is singing, playing forward and staying horizonal.
